First Aid for Blisters

First Aid For Blisters

A blister is small pocket of bodyfluid which can be caused by a number of different mechanisms, the most common being a frictionblister, new shoes anyone 🤣 🤣 🤣 The fluid inside the blister can be lymph serum plasma blood or pus 🤢 First aid for blisters is not usually covered on the emergency first aid, paediatric first aid, first aid for schools or the first aid at work course

For a blister that has not popped resist the temptation to pop it (no, really do resist!). Leave it uncovered or loosely covered with a bandage. Avoid putting pressure on it.

For a popped blister (you didn't pop it did you? come on in be honest you did didn't you, just could not resist it 😂 😂 😂 wash it with warm water, Smooth down any remaining skin flap and cover loosely with a bandage or gauze
